Who is Katy Schmidt?

I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world, living overseas and across the U.S. in Florida and Colorado and have just recently moved back home to my native roots in The Natural State of Fayetteville, Arkansas. I have spent the last 12 years in social work & education. I taught subjects ranging from early childhood education, foster parent training,  to most recently teaching practical life skills to teens aging out of foster care. This background in education & empowerment resulted in a desire to encourage young soon-to-be parents. During my pregnancy my husband and I found so much support in our natural childbirth class. Like all new parents we were nervous about labor and delivery, hearing frightening stories. We were fortunate enough to take a Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth Class. After our son's birth I was so encouraged & empowered by my experience I pursued becoming a Bradley Method Instructor. After teaching for 2.5 years I began getting feedback from my students that they wanted more. More flexibility, updated content & visual aids. I also had been feeling a tug, a desire to set out on my own and create something directly from my experience. Not just teaching the basics of the anatomy of childbirth but something real and raw. My struggles and triumphs. "Childbirth Unplugged" so to speak. So I decided to part ways with Bradley and develop my own course from my own personal experience. This is my passion and life's dedication to provide support & education to young parents. It is a joy & a privilege to share this with you today!
